(Q) What are the Masters Degree programs offered at Skyline University College?

(A) Master of Business Administration degree with two Emphasis Areas:

1. Marketing
2. Finance

(Q) What is the meaning of credit hours?

(A) Credit hours refer to one lecture hour per week lasting for fifteen [15] weeks. Each lecture hour is equivalent to two hours of practical study per week [laboratories, training, workshop, etc].

(Q) What is the Credit Requirement of this course?

(A) 36 credit hours.

(Q) How many total subjects I have to study in this program?

(A) Total 12 subjects (9 as core subject & 3 electives from emphasis)

(Q) What is the duration of MBA Program?

(A) 18 months.

(Q) What are the Graduation requirements for skyline MBA Program?

(A) A student will be awarded the Masters of Business Administration degree upon fulfilling the following graduation completion requirements:

• Successful completion of 36 credit hours
• Achievement of overall CGPA not less than 3.0
• Recommendation for Graduation by the University College Faculty and Administration

(Q) How many days in a week the program will run?

(A) The program will run in evening time three days in a week.

(Q) What is the system of academic calendar i.e. how many semesters are conducted in a year and during what months?

(A) The regular academic calendar consists of Fall Semester, Spring Semester, Summer 1 and Summer 2. Summer semester is a 12-week session. During the summer semester, a student can earn a maximum of 12 credits.

(Q) Is there any Thesis or dissertation requirement in MBA Program?

(A) No

(Q) What will be teaching techniques employed in the program? Will it be an interactive MBA Program?

(A) The program will involve a mix of teaching techniques such as interactive lectures, case exercises, business games, role-plays and syndicate discussions. The purpose of using a wide mix of learning techniques is to ensure that students should develop not only a sound theoretical base of the management subjects, but also to acquire and sharpen decision making and analytical skills with positive work attitude so that they can easily address any business and management related problems with confidence and ease. The MBA Program would be highly interactive in nature where students would be encouraged to think, analyze and visualize different business scenarios and find answers to the critical business problems. (A) Skyline University College offers American Curriculum Based programs and all our Programs are approved and accredited by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE.

(Q) Will my degree be accepted in other countries for higher studies and employment purposes?

(A) The MBA degree offered by Skyline University College have worldwide acceptance by Accredited Institutions and employers equally in public, private and government sectors

Applications and Admissions Related

(Q) What are the admission requirements for MBA program?

(A) A Bachelor’s degree in Business discipline from an accredited institution in the UAE or its equivalent or A Bachelor’s degree in any other discipline will be accepted but the applicant is required to undergo a pre-MBA program to fulfill the requirement of business foundation courses incase the student has not taken any of these stipulated courses.

(Q)What are the GPA and language Proficiency admission Requirements for MBA program?

(A)A minimum of 3.0 CPGA on a 4.0 scale or its established equivalent is required. A TOEFL score of 550, ILETS score of 6.0, or the equivalent of another standardized test approved by the MOHESR

(Q)Do I have to take GMAT for getting entry in this program?

(A)No

(Q): Can I join the program if I have done my Bachelors in non-business area such as Engineering, Arts, Medical etc?

(A)Yes. But you have to undergo Pre-MBA Program to gain required business knowledge before embarking on main MBA Program. In Pre-MBA Program, you are required to clear 7 courses of 3 credit hours. However, if you have done any of these courses in at Graduate Level, you will be given transfer of credits for that.

(Q)Can I join the program if I have done my Bachelors 4-5 years or before?

(A) A student who does not meet the required GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 scale in the Undergraduate degree program and has had at least 8 years lapse from the time of having obtained the Baccalaureate degree but meets the English proficiency requirement of TOEFL score of 550 or its equivalent can get exceptional admission, provided he is granted appropriate permission by the MOHESR.

(Q)Can I get some TOC’s for some MBA Courses done in some other institution?

(A) A maximum of 12 credit hours can be accepted as transfer into the MBA program of Skyline University College provided these credit hours are adequate to meet the requirements for Transfer of credits (TOC) procedures.

Student Services

(Q)What kind of students services support are available for skyline MBA students?

(A) The Skyline University College has well established Education and Student Support Services (ESSS) which aims to provide an environment that is conducive to learning process and to enhance the knowledgebase of its members. The ESSS Dept has three functional units namely: a) Learning Support Services; b) Instructional Support Services; c) Information Technology Resources and Systems.

(Q)Are there any attendance requirements for Skyline MBA students?

(A) Yes. Attendance is mandatory in all classes held during the conduct of a course. Absence from class (es) prevents a student from getting full benefit of a course. It can result in lower grades due to missed assignments, quizzes, exercises and examinations. The minimum attendance required for a student to be allowed for the final examination in a course is 75% of the total credit hours allocated for a course.

Financial Information

(Q) What is the total fee of MBA program?

(Q) Can we pay the fee in installments?

(A) Yes, Non Visa students can pay in monthly installments whereas visa students can pay in three installments per year.

(Q) Can I pay my fees by Credit Card?

(A) Yes

(Q) Does the University provide any Scholarships?

(A)Currently there are no scholarships available for the MBA program.

Visa and Accommodation

(Q) Does the University provide student Visa?

(A) Yes. The University College can sponsor a three years extendable visa to the students seeking visa assistance.

(Q) Does the university provide Hostel facilities?

(A) Yes. Fully furnished Hostel facility is available on a twin sharing and individual room basis.

Transport

(Q) Does the University provide Transport Facility?

(A) Yes, currently the transport is provided in Air conditioned buses from Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman and might be extended to Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah from AY 2010-11.
