The major in Information Systems is designed to meet the needs of today’s business, to effectively use information systems for decision making and efficient running of the business in a competitive environment. This program is intended to exploit the emerging technology of Information Management. The major area of emphasis is built around three themes, namely Internet Technology, Information Systems Design and Development of Information Systems Strategies for effective management of Information Systems based business projects.

Objectives of Information Systems major are to :
  • Understand the organizational settings in which Information Systems are used, including major business functions and processes such as decision-making.
  • Understand the uses and designs of Information systems in an organization.
  • Be familiar with programming, networking and implementation of Information systems in Business.
  • Prepare to explore the complexity of Information systems responsibilities through development of software projects for business applications.
  • Arrange opportunity for internship that provides hands on experience useful for continuous learning.
