TRAVEL AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT

The major in Travel & Tourism Management involves the basic elements of tourism; the tourist, tourism industry and the environment in which it takes place. The curriculum focuses on the issues such as types of tourism, impacts of tourism, enterprises in tourism and their relationships. In addition, the travel and tourism industr y is being analyzed from marketing, planning and policy perspectives at national and international levels. The courses of Travel & Tourism major are designed to understand the overall business environment with a specific focus on the major area.

Objectives of Travel & Tourism Management major are to :
  • Develop a thorough understanding and comprehension of the Travel & Tourism Industr y both domestic and international with an insight into the link between tourism theor y and pract ice
  • Prepare the students to identify the various suppliers of the tourism industry, like transport , accommodation, attractions, and other service providers and to develop related professional skills in such areas
  • Develop an understanding and critical ability for the application of the current concepts in the various dimensions of Travel & Tourism business environment of the UAE and the Gulf region
  • Make the students understand and appreciate growth of tourism in the backdrop of society, culture, economy, environment and polity
