INTRODUCTION
|

The Skyline University College Library was established in 1990 along with the inception of the University College. The Library caters to all the students and faculty of campus to pursue their study and research. Teaching and research Programmes of the University College are supported by the Library by acquiring and making available of relevant print and non print materials.
The Library supports the teaching and other educational function of the University College programs and creative a conductive learning environment for its users through the acquisition and management of materials including but not limited to books, periodicals and electronic resources. The holdings of the library are intended for the use of the University College’s faculty, staff and students as well as the local community. The sole objective is to serve the right information to the right user at the right time.
Skyline University College Library strives enhance the personal growth of students and contribute to the development and sustainability of our students, faculty and other members through free access to ideas, information, educational and scientific research, cultural experiences and educational opportunities.

- I to provide a welcoming sense of place in which all members can interact, exchange ideas, learn and build community as well as read, think, work and reflect.
- To provide resources that inform, educate, inspires and brings enjoyment to both individuals and the community as a whole.
- To develop, implement and maintain an information technology architecture that accommodates the changing requirements of delivering library services in the 21st century.
- Engage the entire University College community in order to understand and meet the unique and varying informational needs.
- Protect the users’ investment in facilities and implement a forward-looking service delivery model that adapts to changing needs.
- Create a stable and sustainable economic model that honors the library's mission of providing the community with free and equal access to information.

GENERAL INFORMATION
|
- The library is governed by a Learning Resource Committee (LRC) which comprises of the HOA, HASS, Senior Faculty Members and the Head Librarian as Convener of the Committee.
- The library has more than 16000 books on various subjects like Humanities, Mathematics, Business Economics, Management, Accounting, and Finance and so on.
- Apart from books the library has Electronic Databases (EBSCO, ProQuest etc.), CD’s, and DVD’s, also
- The library collections are classified based on Dewey Decimal Classification system and the Catalogue is available online for public access.
- For learning purpose the library has more than 25 PC’s with internet access and for OPAC (online public access catalogue).

LIBRARY TIMINGS

CIRCULATION SERVICE
|
|
The circulation is fully automated. The waiting time for user at circulation desk
for check out of a book is just 15 seconds. Each student can have maximum check
outs of two reference book at a time and due date for the same is seven days from
the date of issue. Also five Rental books are issued to each student for a trimester.
Faculty can have maximum check out of 10 books at a time. Use of non print materials
will need permission of the respective faculty and will be issued for the same.

| OVERDUE CHARGES |
|
Fine of 1 dhms/ day will be collected from the students for the first three days
after the expiry of due date and from then onwards 2 dhms /day
|

Timings & Access to Learning Support Centers
|
|
The Learning Support Centers is available for access from 9.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday . During Examination timings the centre can open on Fridays, but it will be the prerogative of the Head Library to decide on the working timings of Learning Support Staff & the facilities.
Student user should comply with instructions provided by Library Staff.
Library Staff can priorities the access to some of the facilities and material, depending upon the class of members (example level, purpose etc.).

LEARNING RESOURCE COMMITTEE (LRC)
|
|
The Library is governed by a Learning Resource Committee comprising of the senior faculties, Head of Non Academics as members and the Head Librarian as Convener of the Committee. The Library Committee is an advisory body and approves Budget allocation, frames rules, policy procedures and several other aspects of library functioning from time to time.

FINANCES
|
|
The College Library has exclusive annual Budget for the purchase of books and other reading material and subscription of Journals and various Electronic databases every year.
|
|
COLLECTIONS OF LIBRARY
|
|
The Library has excellent print as well as non print collections. The library has over 15,500 books covering various areas such as Humanities, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Accounting, Business Communication, Organizational behavior, Strategic management, Finance, Marketing, General Management and excellent literature collection as well.. The library also subscribes around 30 periodicals in print form as well as online in the form of electronic databases which gives access to over 1200 journals. The library also has the collection of theses submitted by the students. Besides this library has an excellent non print collection in the forms of CDs, DVDs, audio and video cassettes.
